The big news so far this year is Spain who have reached the Cup quarter-final for the first time since 2012, having won 2 pool matches. They go through to the Cup round, the premier competition at the HK7s. Vamos! A 17-12 victory over the Aussies saw them through.
Fiji are again looking ominous in what many consider to be their home competition. NZ didn’t see much of the ball in their game against the Flying Fijians who hit the half ton against the Men in Black. Their awareness of space and support play is unbelievable.
The Scots pulled off a memorable victory over the Auld Enemy England with a 22-19 win.

The men in white had too beat South Africa by at least 7 points to go through to the Cup- that wasn’t happening though, as the Boks won comfortably in a game that was tight until the last couple of minutes.
It’s all lining up for a fantastic Day 3 on Sunday at the HK7s.
